llegal Israeli settlers used live ammunition and stones on Wednesday in attacks on Palestinian residents and their homes in Burqa, near Nablus in the occupied West Bank, Wafa has reported.
According to Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors Israeli settlement activities in the area, dozens of settlers sneaked into the village before opening fire at local houses. At the same time, settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles on the Nablus-Jenin road, damaging several cars.
Earlier in the day, three Palestinians were injured after their vehicle was attacked by the Jewish extremists near Ramallah. One of the three was critically injured and had to be flown to hospital. His son, who was also in the car, suffered moderate injuries.
Another Palestinian was injured in a separate incident when settlers attacked his car near the village of Duma, south of Nablus, shattering the windows. On Tuesday, a 15-year-old girl was injured when settlers attacked a car in which she was a passenger.
Israeli settlers have intensified their attacks against Palestinian commuters. Such attacks occur under the watchful eyes of Israeli soldiers, who are deployed in large numbers across the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Authority has accused the Israeli government of officially sponsoring settler violence against the Palestinians. It called for the international community to protect the Palestinians from such attacks.
