According to a statement by the official spokesman of China‘s Foreign Ministry, talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping are scheduled for December 15.

The talks will be held in the form of a video call, TASS reports.

“On December 15, President Xi Jinping of the People‘s Republic of China will have a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin via video communication,” the diplomat said.

The previous meeting between Xi Jinping and Putin was scheduled to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Russian-Chinese Treaty on Good Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation.

The details of the upcoming talks have not yet been finalised.

Earlier, the Russian president called his Chinese counterpart a friend and noted that Russia and China have been cooperating for many years and have achieved important results both in the field of political dialogue and in the economic field.

Last week, Vladimir Putin held talks with US President Joe Biden and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

On Friday night into Saturday, Greek television broadcast an interview with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in which he expressed Russia‘s concern about the movement of military equipment from Alexandroupoli to the Russian border.
