Video footage shows that Houthi forces attempted to shoot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet and almost succeeded with an old Soviet anti-aircraft system.

The aircraft was not downed for very little difference and although it was damaged it did not crash. The incident took place in the airspace of the city of Marib in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia, despite its technological superiority over an adversary with “low-tech” capabilities, has not been able to tip the scales in its favour in the war in Yemen.

It supports the government forces actively and directly against the Shiite Houthis, who are supported in every way and by every means by Iran, but it is the Houthis who control most of the country, including its capital Sanaa.
