Germany‘s Rheinmetall has developed a new robotic armoured vehicle based on the Wiesel vehicle.
The Wiesel robot has a high-tech autonomous package. This stand-alone package can also be used on Boxer, Lynx and HX tactical trucks.
The robotic vehicle can carry supplies and ammunition to front-line combat units at no cost in blood, but can even be used in combat missions, “testing” enemy defences or even striking the enemy safely for friendly personnel.
The robotic vehicle can be remotely controlled by trained soldiers or act on its own based on special software programmed in advance depending on the mission. It can avoid obstacles or even accompany convoys autonomously.
