Clashes erupted today between the Taliban, who have controlled Afghanistan and Iran since August, with their forces taking over three Iranian outposts on the Iranian-Afghan border!
The clashes are taking place in Kaaang & Nimroz provinces on the Iranian border, i. e. the Taliban have invaded Iranian territory.
According to local sources, eleven Iranian Revolutionary Guards and three Taliban commanders were killed during the clashes.
From Nimroz province, local sources report that the Taliban subsequently suffered heavy losses as an Iranian F-5 taking off from Mashad airport bombed their positions.
Iran has not yet recognised the Taliban government.
The Iranian Guards used heavy weaponry while the Afghan Taliban used American Humvees from those left in abundance by the Americans leaving the country.
