Egypt wants to acquire the South Korean K9 Thunder gun

During the “EDEX 2021” international exhibition, South Korean Hanwha revealed that Egypt has shown interest in supplying the 155mm K9 Thunder self-propelled guns and the K10 refuelling vehicles that accompany them.
The South Korean company did not disclose further details, but South Korea‘s Yonhap news website wrote that the deal will include co-production and technology transfer.
The K9 Thunder achieves a maximum continuous rate of fire of three rounds every 15 seconds or a maximum rate of fire of 6-8 rounds per minute for a maximum of three minutes.
With conventional high explosive ammunition the maximum range of the K9 Thunder is 30 km, with DP-ICM ammunition it is 38 km, while with the K-307 Drag and K-315 extended range ammunition the maximum range is in the range of 41. 6 km and 52-56 km respectively.
