Russia has decided to withdraw from talks on a peace treaty with Japan following the sanctions imposed by Tokyo for its intervention in Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement today.
Russia and Japan have yet to formally end their post-World War II state of war between them due to disputes that have hampered economic ties between the two countries.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also reported that Russia has withdrawn from talks with Japan on joint business projects in the Kuril Islands.
