According to the Ministry of Defence, Russian Su-35S have already been engaged in intercepting airborne targets.
A squadron of Su-35S fighters, deployed to Belarus from the Far East, has been stationed at Baranovichi airport and has already taken on a mission to protect the airspace over the republic.
The crews worked on intercepting aerial targets, which were the Su-25 attack aircraft of the Belarusian Air Force.
The day before, several Russian Su-35S fighters took off to escort Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bombers patrolling Belarusian airspace.
12 SU-35S fighters of the Air Defence Forces have been transported to Belarus to participate in the Allied Resolve-2022 exercises, which will start tomorrow, February 10, and run until February 20.
