The United States puts a definitive end to the construction of the EastMed pipeline, in yet another spectacular cube of the kind that they have historically made since World War II, making one wonder why the Greek political system has always relied so much on the Americans.
In a non paper from the State Department to the Greek government, with the Secretary General for International Economic Relations and External Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yannis Smyrlis, they announce Washington‘s refusal to support this project, according to an article by G. An identical non paper has reportedly been sent to Tel Aviv and Turkey.
The most important parameter is that the US in the non paper, justifying its position, apart from the economic and commercial data, points out that the idea of the pipeline in question is a source of tension in the Eastern Mediterranean, clearly taking the position of Turkey!
