Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made some important statements during his speech at an event entitled “National Technologies and New Investments” where he revealed that he is preparing Turkey for future wars with the completion of the indigenous fighter in 2023.

Turkey is definitively interested in only one thing: the acquisition of its own fighter.

“Now we are raising the bar higher. We are preparing our country for the war environment of the future, taking it higher,” he said, describing the defence industry as a “super-political field“.

He praised the Turkish president‘s ability to build warships and unmanned vehicles and then announced the date of completion of the indigenous fighter aircraft, which will be ready in 2023.

“We are among the top 10 countries that can design, build and maintain their own warships. We are now among the top 3 countries in the world in drone production.

I hope that our national fighter aircraft will come out of the hangar in 2023 to show it to the world. This step is continuing rapidly and our national fighter aircraft will make its first flight in 2025 and take its place in the skies in 2029 as the strike force of our air force,” the Turkish president said, according to sigmalive.
